The New Year might not yet have arrived, but we are sure some of you are turning your thoughts to longer, warmer and sunnier days and perhaps wondering what next year's summer holidays might bring. We certainly are as we have already started making plans to run the Summit Cafe at the Keswick Convention again next year. The Convention is always looking for volunteers to run everything from creche to technical to catering and, of course, the cafe!
Here's what some of last year's volunteers had to say about working in the cafe:
"Working in the café enabled me to see all of the talks. The work was actually very fun as it was not too strenuous and all the customers were very friendly to us, as well as the other workers and volunteers at the convention."
"I loved being part of the cafe team and serving so many lovely people! Great to meet many of the volunteers and keep them topped up with coffee and hot chocolate - the youth and kids team workers are a delight. Good to have deeper conversations whilst coffee was percolating and to be able to pray for individual needs."
This year the Convention runs from 14th July until 4th August. We need 10 volunteers each week to run the cafe. If you are interested and would like to find out more, go to their website where you can also download the volunteering handbook. You can also contact the team direct at: firstname.lastname@example.org
We hope to see you there (and remember, volunteers get some great complementary coffee!)
